In 2004, the Southeast Europe Youth Network – SEEYN starts the implementation of the new project titled “Albert Einstein”, with the goal to provide legislative framework for voluntarism in the countries of the SEE, and to establish a volunteer traveler visa. The ultimate goal of the project is to strengthen the youth mobility through increase of volunteer action, in order to secure the peace and stability in the region.
The following activities are planned for the ten months of implementaion of the project:

Survey (implemented by UNV-UNDP and Balkan Human Rights Network (BHRN));

Public competition for a documentary on voluntarism and its advantages;

Small grants for promotion campaigns; and
-
Conference on youth voluntarism.
Target groups:

national and local authorities in the countries of the SEE (Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, Albania, Bulgaria and Macedonia)

Non-governmental organizations what work in the field of voluntary action and voluntarism

Young people between the ages of 18 to 25

The Youth Communication Centre (OKC) from Banja Luka, and the Youth Information Agency of B&H, in cooperation with UNV-UNDP and BHRN Balkan Human Rights Network, will be the implementing agencies for this project. In the other countries of SEE, the project will be implemented by the Volunteer Centre Zagreb, the Young Researchers of Serbia, ADP Zid Montenegro, Albanian Youth Council, Youth Forum OKO – Macedonia, Pro-Democracy Association - Club Constanta – Romania, Balkan Youth Club – Bulgaria, UNV-UNDP and the Balkan Human Rights Network.
The financial support for the Albert Einstein Project is provided by FRESTA Funds (donor programme of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Kingdom of Denmark, directed at building of peace and stability in the Southeastern Europe).
