Network Project: “Indigenous Peoples, Gender and Natural Resource"
|
Five organisations from Denmark, WWF-Denmark, IWGIA, KULU-Women and Development, Nepenthes and DIIS have jointly elaborated a network project on: Indigenous Peoples, Gender, and Natural Resource Management, in order to share, explore and strengthen our experience and knowledge within the field emerging from the intersection between these three areas.
A first step of this project will be to compile existing experiences to elaborate a State of the Art paper. This and other relevant information including a data base, will be available on the internet in English and hopefully also in Spanish. Once in process, your organisation can receive more information about this website. Afterwards the gathered information will be analysed to identify good experiences as well as constraints that hitherto have positively or negatively affected the integration of indigenous men and women in natural ressource management projects. This will be the basis for elaborating methodological approaches and guidelines that hopefully not only will improve our own work but also be useful for other organisations and concerned persons. Definitions and objective Our network will operate with the following areas of interest: Indigenous Peoples, Gender and Natural Resource Management It is our objective to cover the intersection between these three areas, and to identify the challenges where they meet in international development work. If you organisation works with these areas of interest, we would kindly ask you to help us by filling in the brief questionnaire, which you can require replying to ms@kulu.dk You will find information on the objectives of our network, on our organisations members of the network, as well as a definition of each of our three areas of interest in another document, which you can require as well replying to ms@kulu.dk The compilation of existing experiences will be done in collaboration with our partner organisations, indigenous resource persons, research institutions and international agencies. Also, a few indigenous persons will be invited to come to Denmark to make a presentation of their work and experiences within the field.” For more information, please contact: Martha Salazar ns@kulu.ck KULU - Women and Development, Denmark Borgergade 14, 2th 1300 Copenhagen Denmark www.kulu.dk |
