The First Children Embassy in the World – Megjasi, under the global week for inclusion of children in education process, implements the “Join Us! Right to Education NOW” campaign, that started on April 23 and will be implemented in over 100 countries in the world.
The aim of this Action Week is to alarm the governments all over the world about the grave situation regarding exclusion of children in education system. In fact, at this moment, over 80 million children all over teh world don’t go to school! The number of children that don’t go to school in Macedonia is over 18,000! The Campaign includes a number of activities, including a video spot that is expected to be broadcast by the media during the Action Week, in order to raise public awareness on vital importance of quality education for all; the longest human chain in the world in which the children from Macedonia will join the children from all the world and will join hand in solidarity with the children that are denied of their right to education. This year the chain will be filmed from a helicopter camera, in Skopje, Tetovo, Veles and Kumanovo. The helicopter will also be used to distribute leaflets designed to stimulate the children to show their solidarity and think about the right to education as universal right of all children. The helicopter will be provided, free of charge, by the Macedonian Ministry of the Interior. The action is supported by the Global March Against Chlid Labour and Cosmofon Telecommunications Company, a number of domestic civic organizations, municipalities and schools. |
