Sex Education Week in Croatian Schools

The STOP to RISKY SEX EDUCATION civic coalition organizes the “Sex Education Week” that started yesterday, March 26 and will last until Saturday, March 31.

In cooperation with numerous local youth associations, secondary school teachers and students, as well as university students in 12 cities and townships in Croatia, a series of debates, discussions and gatherings will be organized, aiming to promote youth debate on the model of sex education they would prefer, based on information on the ongoing process of introduction of sex education in Croatian education system.

"Sex Education Week" will allow the youth to take active participation in a public debate, something that the competent authorities failed to do so far.

The Week coincides with the announcement by Neven Ljubicic, Minister of Health and Social Welfare, that the Ministry will decide on the proposed programmes and curricula about health education, including the module on human sexuality, during this week.

The participants in the Sex Education Week activities will be asked to fill in a questionnaire. The results of the anonymous poll will be presented, after processing, at a special conference for the press.
