The citizens of Macedonia in need of information about processes in the European Union and Macedonian accession can get the required information at the newly established MK-EU Centre, opened yesterday in Skopje.
The Information Centre was officially opened by Prime Minister Gruevski, in the presence of several Government ministers, representatives of EU Office in Macedonia and citizens. ”The speed and the success on our road to EU is not easy, but it does depend on us. The closer we get the closer look EU has on us. The obstacles we have to pass rise and we have to do some serious work”, said Gruevski and emphasized that full EU membership remains the main strategic goal for Macedonia. Gabriela Konevska Trajkovska, Government Vice-President charged with EU integrations, said that this was the first step of the Government’s programme “Public Information and Communication Strategy on Macedonian Accession to EU”. She announced the planned opening of EU’s cultural and press-centre, as well as information centres in other Macedonian cities and townships. The MK-EU Centre offers the citizens internet access to EU web-sites and presentations, foreign press and live broadcasts of EU’s bodies and institutions’ sessions through Europe by satellite channel. Also, the Centre offers about 600 books and publication on EU. The EU Member states will be presented through information brochures, flyers and tourist promotional materials. |
