Roma Information Centre Opens in Kumanovo

Last week (March 14, 2007) the Roma Information Centre (RIC) was officially opened, located in the facilities of the DROM Roma Centre. RIC will work under the sponsorship and patronage of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies.
The activities of the Roma Information Centre include providing information to the Roma population, under the auspices of the Decade of Roma Inclusion 2005-2015. RIC will cooperate with representatives of the local institutions, such as the Employment Agency, the Social Welfare Centre, the Health Fund, etc. RIC will assist members of its target group in completion of forms, requests, complaints, and will assist the institutions establish better cooperation and access to the citizens. Earlier this month, the DROM Roma Community Centre from Kumanovo also opened an internet cafe, in order to improve the possibilities for information education for Roma youth in Kumanovo, under the “Information – Public Knowledge” project, financed by eMacedonia foundation. |
