Our Future European Integration

�Our Future � European Integration� (OFEI) is an exchange programme and a network of young people from Kosovo, Serbia and The Netherlands.

The Our Future programme consists of two core components: study visits and peer-to-peer lectures. Participants of the programme are obliged to participate in all study visits and to give presentations to fellow students after their participation in the exchange programme. Participants of the study visits are also members of Our Future Network, in which all former participants of the programme are gathered. The network offers a platform for discussion, the exchange of information and socializing.

For 2007 this network is looking for 5 new participants/members of the Our Future Network from each region.

Study visits
First activity and a very important component of the OFEI programme is the study visit. Throughout the year three study visits are organized: one in Kosovo, one in Serbia and one in The Netherlands and Brussels. 15 students, five from each region, participate in these study visits: Kosovo/Loesje kamp; Serbia/Belgrade/Novi Sad � EXIT Festival; Netherlands/Belgium (Brussels).

OFEI encourage to apply all those who are:

curious about the Western Balkans and Serbia and Kosovo in specific
interested in exploring the themes of European Integrations and the position of minorities
committed to giving lectures at schools or universities after the exchange visits
willing to get actively involved in a network of young people from Kosovo, Serbia and the Netherlands
between 18 and 22 years old
able to communicate well in English language

In order to apply, applicants are asked to write an essay (up to 500 words). The essay and application form should be both in English. You should write an essay on the following subjects:

The position of minorities in the context of European integration
Differences and similarities between minorities
The Western Balkans: part of Europe or not?
What can Europe do for me? What can I do for Europe?

Your application form and essay should be sent at ngo_integra@yahoo.com not later than 2nd of April, 2007. Selection of participants will take place in the first week of April. If you pass the selection, you will be invited to come to a preparation meeting. The first study visit, which will be in Kosovo, will take place in the beginning of May.
