Journalist Forum on Waste Management in Karlovac
Journalists from Croatia and other countries in the region gathered yesterday, March 18, in Karlovac, for a three-day forum aiming to improve the quality of reporting on the problem of waste management in Croatia.
The Forum’s aims to review weaknesses and progress achieved in public information about waste management in the country; introduce new regulation on waste management; and present the latest relevant EU standards and trends in waste management. Experienced investigative journalists from MediaCentre Sarajevo will educate the journalists about methods and techniques of investigative journalism processes designed to secure the creation of quality media contents, contributing to environmental awareness of the general public. The 25 participants (from Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina) will plant a linden tree, grown by Eko-Oroslavlje association at the end of the Forum (March 20), as its contribution ot UNEP’s “Billion Trees Against Climate Changes” Campaign.
