Erwan Fouere, the EU Ambassador to Macedonia, and Vladimir Milcin, the Executive Director of the Foundation Open Society Institute Macedonia (FOSIM), greeted the NGOs at the traditional annual meeting held at Mala Stanica Cultural Centre in Skpoje, on February 8.

At the meeting, Suncica Kostovska, coordinator of FOSIM Civil Society Programme, presented the “Living in Multiethnic Community: Citizens with Equal Rights, Opportunities and Protection” Project, which will be implemented over the next 30 months in cooperation with Common Vallues Association from Skopje and the 12 NGO Support Centres from all parts of Macedonia.

The Project is supported by the European Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR), which secured 70% of the funds, with the remaining 30% provided by FOSIM.

It aims to promote and improve the status of minority groups and the strengthen the capacities for active participation in public policy creation on local and national levels.

The project consists of three components: capacity building and networking; advocacy and public awareness raising; and, monitoring of local administration.
