Director of Travnik Cultural Centre Going High?

The CURE Foundation finds the February 8 reaction by Emir Malicevic, the Director of Travnik Municipality Cultural Centre, to deny the request by Alter Art association to use its facilities for a concert by Rijeka rock-bank “LET 3”.

Who finds LET3 disagreeable?
Who finds LET3 disagreeable?
Alter Art has backed the only independent cultural scene in Travnik for several years. It represents cultural oasis that gathers people form all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad. It is truly incredible to hear that “with the aim to secure correct cultural education of the young population”, as Malicevic put it himself, somebody takes the liberty to try to explain to the youth what culture is.

CURE are appalled by the fact that a director can decide on the few and afar cultural events by “his/her insight in the internet” and to rely on consultations about what is and what is not culture with unnamed “responsible and competent persons from Mostar and Tuzla”.

The CURE Foundation calls on director Malicevic to give the hall of the Travnik Cultural Centre to Alter Art for the concert of the truly legendary LET2. The young and education people do know what culture is, they live in it and have the right to organize, listen to and watch what they choose in their own town. Also, they know how to recognize what culture is not, say CURE.
