Mobilkom Austria Becomes Third Mobile Operator in Macedonia

Mobilkom Austria became third mobile operator in Macedonia after being selected by the Commission within the Agency for Electronic Communications on February 4, 2007. Mobilkom Austria met all criteria required by the tender documentation.

Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski announced that by introducing the third mobile operator, six months after granting the licence, the prices of standard service package will be reduced by 50 to 67 percent.

With 3,63 million customers and a market share of 38,8 percent, Mobilkom is Austria's leading mobile operator. The company is also present in Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Lichtenstein, Serbia, and is bidding to enter Kosovo market.

Since January 2003, Mobilkom Austria Group has been part of the Vodafone partner network.
