FOSIM Signs Technical Assistance Cooperation with Ministry of Interior

The Foundation Open Society Institute Macedonian (FOSIM) and the Ministry of the Interior signed an agreement for cooperation, which obligates FOSIM to supply technical assistance of total value of 40,000 EUR to the Ministry.

The assistance is to be used to strengthen the Ministry�s capacities in the process of approximation of Macedonian legislation with EU�s acquis communautaire.

Five lawyers, selected in a public competition, will be employed in the Ministry to assist the working groups working to harmonize over 100 by-laws and regulations with the new Law on Police.

The Agreement was signed on January 30, 2007, at the Ministry of the Interior, by Interior Minister Gordana Jankuloska and FOSIM Executive Director Vladimir Milcin.
