Visa Negotiations with EC Continue

B&H Delegation, led by the Secretary of Ministry of Security Bakir Dautbasic traveled to Brussels, yesterday, January 28, to start the second three-day round of negotiations with the European Commission on relaxed visa regime and readmission.

The Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina reports that the aim of this meeting is to define the final versions of the agreements between B&H and the EC on visa regime relaxation and readmission of persons without residence permits.

The plan is to use this round of negotiation to define as much of the texts as possible, in order to be able to finalize the two agreements in the third round of talks, scheduled to take place in mid-February.

The signing of the two Agreements (on visas and readmission, respectively) could happen sometimes in March, after the adoption and ratification procedures are completed in B&H Council of Ministers and Presidency, and the completion of proper procedures inside the countries of EU.

The first round of talks took place in Brussels, on December 20, 2006.
