A1 TV Wins Annual Media Civil Society Award

A1 TV won the Annual Civil Society Media Award, presented by the Macedonian Institute for the Media (MIM) for contributions in strengthening of civil society in Macedonia in 2006.

Last Thursday, January 18, at the Mala Stanica Cultural Centre, MIM presented three other awards to Macedonian Television, �Sitel� TV and �Utrinski vesnik� daily. The voting took place between September 12 and December 10, 2006, with all legally registered NGOs, civic associations and foundations in Macedonia eligible to cast their votes.

This initiative is a part of MIM�s project for strengthening of civil society in Macedonia. This three-year project is financed by the USAID and is implemented by a consortium led by the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) and includes MIM, the Institutional Development Centre (CIRa) and the European Centre for Nonprofit Law (ECNL).

The project aims to increase the civic participation in decision-making processes on political and social levels, through expanded influence of the civil society.
