Astra Opens Little House of Skills
|
The ASTRA “Little House of Skill” day centre started working on January 1, 2007, thanks to the support by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and CARE International NWB.
The day-centre is envisioned as a safe place which gives ASTRA’s clients access to continued therapy, free legal advise, self-help groups. It also encourages them to return to the education system, yoga classes and other physical activities, planning of free-time and stimulation of creativity, offers creative and educational workshops, learning of various skills. ASTRA’s “Little House of Skills” is a place for gathering, where trafficking victims, regardless of their sex, age, nationality, faith or race, could get various types of assistance important for their psycho-physical recovery and re-socialization. Having in mind that re-integration remains one of the weakest links in the system of assistance to trafficking victims in Serbia, the goal is to promote new forms of work and activity, offer comprehensive assistance to victims and point out at new models and best practices applicable. The activities will be planned and created monthly, depending on the needs and wishes of the clients, and will be announced on ASTRA’s web-site. |
