We Have the Right to Healthy Living
OXO non-governmental organization presente, for the night year in a row, the “eco”-calendars and teachers’ manuals that will be distributed to pupils and teachers in pre-school and elementary education institutions in Macedonia.
The main topic of the 2007 Calendar is “I have the right to healthy life!” Each of the messages in the calendar emphasizes one way in which the environment impacts our health, meaning that by protecting the environment, we actually protect ourselves. The Teachers’ Manual offers detailed explanations for the messages in the calendar and advice on the ways in which we could contribute to protect the environment. The main purpose of this Manual is to help the teachers prepare classroom discussions on each of the messages. The calendar and the Manual are part of the “We Have no Spare Planet” environmental-educational programme. This programme, implemented over the past nine years, produces education material distributed to all pre-school institutions and elementary schools in the country, and includes activities to establish and coordinate a network of Eco-Schools, as well as public awareness campaigns. The calendar and the Manual are published bilingually, in Macedonian and Albanian languages. |
