“...Homophobes are Human, Too” Campaign wins Creativity Annual Award
The “...Homophobes are Human, Too” Campaign, prepared for Queer Zagreb by Bruketa&Zinic Advertising Agency, was selected among the 3,000 works submitted for the Creativity Annual Award in the U.S.
The “...Homophobes are Human, Too” campaign points out at the problems of intolerance for non-heterosexuality in the general public. It aims to warn the public about the prevalence of homophobia in society, but also to emphasize the need to recognize homophobes as persons who need help to overcome their own prejudice. It was the first campaign in Croatia, related to sexual minorities, which wasn’t based on attempts to woo the heterosexual majority, but to the homophobes as a category of population that needs systemic education. The award was given for the ideas to use city lights to transmit the campaign’s message. For additional information on the campaign, visit the web-site www.queerzagreb.org/new/index?page=kampanja. The international success of the campaign demonstrates that its message is universal and people from all parts of the world could identify themselves in the campaign. The awarded work will be listed in the Creativity 36 Almanac. |
