The MJAFT Movement expressed its concerns over the situation regarding the oncoming elections.
"The political debates on the elections in Albania are not concerned with the real problems that effect the citizens who after all what to listen about the solutions and not elections", said Erion Veliaj from MJAFT in the press-conference held on Wednesday, December 13. According to Veliaj, the electoral process should be a technical discussion and the debate today should focus on the alternative approaches to finding solutions for the problems that elections have brought about. "The citizens should be listening to the solutions of the problems such as the electricity, water, urbanization as well as urgent problems concerning the environment and a lot of other problems", he added. MJAFT believes the current situation is generating disappointment and unease with the citizens. "It doesn’t matter whose fault it is. What remains is that after 16 years of changes in government in Albania, the political class is fighting hopelessly without finding a reasonable solution to the problem of the elections by remaining indifferent to the basic needs of the citizens", underlined the executive of the MJAFT Movement. Consequently, the citizens have no options but to be sceptical about democracy in Albania. Veliaj says that this situation is discrediting our image and reputation in the world in a crucial moment for the future of our nation. It is essential for us in this moment of historic importance to show understanding in order to pass this crisis. MJAFT urged the Albanian political class to show maturity and understanding and to dispense with their personal political interests and show that the democracy in Albania should take the upper hand. "The citizens of this country do not deserve anything less". |
