Natasa Kandic, Time Magazine’s Hero
The Time Europe magazine published its special edition 60 Years of Heroes, which lists 60 names of people who, in their opinion, “shaped our lives since 1946”. Natasa Kandic, Executive Director of the Humanitarian Law Centre, was named one of the heroes.
Kandic was included in the Inspirations & Explorers category, together with Princess Diana, Bernard Couchner, Pope John Paul II, Christiane Amanpour, Jacques-Yves Cousteau, Mother Theresa and others. A profile of each hero was provided by a prominent person in their respective fields. Carla Del Ponte, the Head Prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal, wrote about Kandic that she was tireless fighter for human rights. Del Ponte was “impressed and inspired” by her courage, openness and care for all victims. |
