MJAFT Movement in Lexhe, an “Exposition” with the garbage

The activists of MJAFT Movement in Lexha protested, on Sunday, October 29, the problematic environmental situation this town. They have taken photos of places covered up with garbage scattered all over the town and they have invited the locals to sign a petition, as they were watching the 120 photos displayed, addressed to the local authorities in which they urged them to change this situation.

In this petition the MJAFT activists of the civic club in Lexha demanded that a solution be found on the part of the authorities so that a permanent garbage deposit is provided as well as a functional and systematic collection of them.

“It is intolerable that a town with such an ancient history offers to the tourists such shocking images”, said Ermal Gega, a MJAFT activist from Lexha.

Altin Jaku, the director of this club expressed his optimism about this action and he informed that the activists of this club are determent to further this project by organizing massive protests. The first protest will take place on Thursday.

The environmental problems were the issue of a project at national level undertaken by MJAFT Movement during this summer. A caravan titled “Live Green” travelled throughout major cities in Albania to raise awareness among citizens and local authorities to improve the environmental situation in Albania.
