New Coalition against Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation of Children in Albania

Several major national Albanian children rights organisations promoted, on October 24, 2006, the establishment of a new Coalition against Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation of Children in Albania. The Coalition which will be known under the acronym ACTSEC has been accepted as an associate group of ECPAT International.
ACTSEC is leaded by the Children's Human Rights Centre of Albania – CRCA and will work for the elimination of child trafficking and any forms of exploitation of children in Albania. Other members of the Coalition include Albanian Children's Rights Network (ACRN) and Information and Research Centre for Children's Rights in Albania (IRCCRA). Meanwhile CRCA is coordinating the efforts to increase the membership of the Coalition with other high-profile NGO's known for their stance against child trafficking and exploitation of children in Albania. Among the major activities of the Coalition for 2006 will be: - Data collection and analysis on child labour and child sexual exploitation in Albania; - Campaign against economical exploitation of children; - Coordination of efforts of civil society in Albania against internal child trafficking and sexual exploitation of children; - Press for changes in policies and legislation related to sale and exploitation of children in Albania. |
