Peace Unlimited Festival Opens

The 7th Peace Unlimited Festival, organized by CIVIL NGO from Skopje, starts this evening, Wednesday, November 25, 2006, at the Youth Cultural Centre in Skopje.

The official motto of the festival is “Put your finger on guitar string, not the trigger of a gun”. During the five days of the festival, a great number of concerts by established and demo bands from Macedonia and Kosovo will be held, together with theatrical plays, exhibitions and film screenings. (For a detailed programme, visit CIVIL’s website at www.civil.org.mk).

„During the time in which Macedonian society sinks ever deeper in misery and disorder, the weapons are increasingly used as “means of communication”. The system fails to find solution and to leave behind the daily politics, political bickering and corruption. The system faces a dead-end. The youth of Macedonia is left to its own devices, without alternatives to the horrible present. For us, this Festival is an answer to this situation”, says Xhabir Deralla, Executive Director of CIVIL.

The tickets for the Festival events will be sold at a popular price of 200 Denars (covering the whole daily programme). Only the tickets for Saturday, October 28, will cost 250 Denars.
