Kosovo lawmakers, on Monday, in a special session of the Kosovo Parliament amended and adopted the Law on Cultural Heritage, which is one of the 13 additional standards determined by the Contact Group.

This Law has been adopted after the second review of some amendments, which have been contested from the Office of UN special envoy for Kosovo’s status, Marti Ahtisaari, which requested inclusion of some provisions that according to him would guarantee better protection of religious and cultural monuments.

Law on Cultural Heritage was adopted without any major opposition from the parliament members, though one of them requested more clarification in the terms “protected zone” and “protected area” which are mentioned in this Law.
