Opportunities for Young Entrepreneurs in Osijek-Baranja County

The Youth Council of the Osijek-Baranja County, established under the project implemented by Croatian Youth Network (CYN) and the Centre for Informal Education (formerly the Youth Club Osijek) held a debate on October 5, at the Osijek Chamber of Commerce, discussing the topic of entrepreneurship opportunities for the youth.

Ivan Bracic, Assistant to Minister of Economy, the Head of the County Development Agency and his deputy Ivana Katavic talked at the debate. About 60 participants took part in the debate, especially representatives of organizations involved in the Youth Council, but also with significant number of university and high school students.

After the opening addresses, the audience asked the featured speakers about entrepreneurship and the youth, especially in relation with the Government�s directions included in the 2006 Employment Plan. Much information about possibilities to get advice, bank loans, establish an enterprise, and other issues in the County, first in Croatia in terms of opened entrepreneurship zones, was presented.

This is the first activity of the Osijek-Baranja County Youth Council. At the same time, this was the first concrete step towards establishment of quality partnership cooperation with country administration, which is the first requirement for the next activities of the Youth Council � the preparation and adoption of County Youth Action Programme.
