"AKCIJA Sarajevo – Cultural Development Agency" invites you to a public lecture, “Can you Imagine a World Without Copyrights?” by professor Joost Smiers from Utrecht, the Netherlands. The lecture will take place on Monday, October 9, at 18:00 hours, at the Mediacentre Sarajevo (Kolodvorska 3).

The lecture is dedicated to criticism of widely accepted system of copyrights, disclosing it as an instrument of control of channels of cultural production, distribution and promotion, managed by certain agglomerations in industry of culture.

The main intent is to analyze the consequences of economic globalization in arts and culture all over the world. At that, it doesn’t discuss just any type of globalization, but focuses on neo-liberal, economic globalization as the sole decisive factor in all fields of social life.
