Let�s Get Started Summer School 2006

Last month, British Council Albania organised the "Let�s Get Started" Summer School 2006, an educational experience where learning and fun were combined.

Different lectures on Active Citizenship, Literature, Problem Solving, Sport Leadership, Art Session etc, were delivered aiming at offering sufficient knowledge for the participants to consolidate their ideas in real projects.

During the Summer School week, the participants were encouraged to think over an issue which preoccupied their community and offer a solution in the form of a project-idea or business initiative. Representatives of different NGO�s were invited to assist the participants with their experience.

Special guests of the summer school were young people from the UK. The aim was to encourage common initiatives and future collaboration of the young generations between UK, Albania and even within the SEE itself.

Participants were given the chance to organize their artistic performances and prepare talent shows for their friends. The Summer School also offered the possibility for the LGS clubs of different cities, to show the activities they�ve been carrying during last year. Also sessions on Health Education, Fashion, Music, Film, Creative Writing, Dance, had their special impact on this unique learning experience.
