RSF Not Satisfied with Roma and Egyptians Inclusion in Montenegro Society

Roma Scholarship Foundation (RSF) concluded that the ongoing election activities in Montenegro confirmed, once again, that Roma and Egyptians are not involved sufficiently in public affairs and social and political life.

According to RSF, no political party or coalition included members of the Roma-Egyptian community in their lists of candidates for the Parliamentary Elections.

Another opportunity was missed to use, on local level, the potentials in the Roma and Egyptian community, capacities very much developed over the past three years.

In addition, no party or coalition running in the Elections created a special programme dedicated to Roma and Egyptians as most vulnerable ethnic and social group in Montenegro.

RSF is encouraged by the fact the dr. Nedzmija Berisa was put on the electoral list for Podgorica City Assembly by the Coalition for European Montenegro – Milo Djukanovic DPS-SDP. Berisa is in the 25 place on the list of 55 candidates.

RSF expects from all political actors and the new decision-makers to work more intensively and to dedicate more effort to the issues of true inclusion of Roma and Egyptians in Montenegrin Society.
