Students Start “Ethics in Higher Education” Project

The students of Zagreb University started the EHE Project (Ethics in Higher Education), which aims to fight and prevent corruption and other forms of injustice against individuals, organizations and institutions in Croatia.

The project gathers students, professors and all other individuals and organizations that with to help the creation of a more just and ethical society. Although higher education will be its priority target, the project will not ignore the other current problems of the society in general.

In order to educate and inform all stakeholders in the process of higher education, the EHE project will include a number of lectures and public debates at various faculties, to provide individuals with an opportunity to discuss current problems and try to define what problems are there that need to be solved.

Furthermore, in order to get clear picture of the actual situation in higher education institutions, two public opinion polls are planned (the first at the start of the academic year, the second at the end of the project) which should result in the corruption index at the faculties.

Ultimately, the project should result in a creation of student code of ethics and Student Ethical Committee charged with protection of rights of all stakeholders in higher education.

More details on the project, the schedule of lectures and debates should be available at the beginning of September, in the official bulletin of the EHE project. The Bulletin will be published regularly and distributed to all faculties of Zagreb University and other relevant institutions.
