Wall That Divides Citizens from Executive
|
Tens of activists of MJAFT Movement build yesterday (on Wednesday) a wall at the Rinia Park to symbolize the gap and division existing between the executive and the real needs of the citizens. On the one side of this concrete wall the activists wrote some of the unfulfilled needs like lack of water supplies, lack of electric power or other basic services.
On the other side of the improvised wall in the middle of the park the various colourful graffiti symbolized the "preoccupation" of the executive which, according to the activists of MJAFT, "do not bother to solve the problems of the citizens, on the contrary, they only expand their power. "We decided to gather here today to inform the political class and especially the Albanian executive that apart from the attempts to expand their power there are other problems which are supposed to be solved by them who are elected as our representatives, problems which are skipped so far", said Besjan Besha, activist of MJAFT. "This concrete wall is intentionally thick which stands for the huge division between the political class and the citizens whose needs and demands are unimportant", he added. The members of MJAFT concentrated in their campaign on the fact that we are spending these hot summer days without running water in our houses (even when the water runs in our taps it is untested by endangering us to be infected and get sick). "This is a serious situation which is continuously repeating itself because so far no one of them who canvasses for the vote has ever tried to seriously consider their duty which we pay through our taxes" said another activist. |
