Documentary Series of Women Victims of Violence Stories
|
The new series of documentary films, titled SOS – Dossier (Violence in the Family), with authentic stories of women from Southern Serbia victims of violence, was produced by the Vranje Human Rights Committee and the department of video production of the Vranje Press Agency (AVP).
Four episodes were completed under this series, with stories by women who agreed to talk about the violence they suffer in their respective families through the SOS Phone Line of the Vranje Human Rights Committee. Suzana Antic-Ristic, Executive Director of SOS Dossier Project and coordinator of Vranje Human Rights Committee office (CHRIS network), said that this is the first project of its kind, to be aired by local television stations in their education programmes. The material will be used, in her mind, to lead to a variety of conclusions and measures designed to reduce the family violence. The series was written by Maja Jovanovic, CHRIS Network lawyer, and the episodes were directed by Vojkan Ristic. The documentaries produced under the SOS Dossier series will be aired on local TV broadcasters in Southeast Serbia. This is the third research and investigative project of the Vranje Human Rights Committee and AVP, following past projects on war crimes and trafficking in human beings. All NGOs and local TV stations can receive the series free of charge, at contact address avpvr@ptt.yu. For additional information, visit www.avp-vranje.co.yu. |
