Dear all, activists, artists, NGO pplz, students, CURE invite you to partake in PitchWise [PicvajzZ] festival of women arts (and it ain't for women only) that is occuring in sArajevO between September 14 and 17 (Thursday to Sunday) 2006 and at the Museum of History of Bosnia and Herzegovina (formerly the Museum of the Revolution)
What's PitchWise? Aside from it being the first festival of women arts in BiH, PitchWise is a state of being in transformative, free, accessible and endless art that occurs in us, from within and without us and all around us (in a harmonious chaos). PitchWise is a place where we celebrate generations of women who change history into herstory and reveal and share realities of women and all persons through the fusion of arts and activism. We announce Djane Jasmina, ghetto booties, VJana Lina, Kreč, feyz-i abdest, MashVatri, TransRhythmic Kitchen, '78 Revisited, Bitchkazz iz a lie, and more Take a peak into the Program and if you are interested, sign up for workshops or to volunteer (though, translations will be available for some events only and program mostly in southslavic languages). Workshops: - For DjaneZ (14 and 15 sept, time will be announced soonly): basix of mixing with players and record player+do URown mix+no previous knowledge required, w/DJane Jasmina - POI (15 i 16 sept) :: learn how to twirl and spin or come and get better at it, w/MashVatri crew - fArtsFusion Workshop (to be held each day of the fest) :: focus is on the process of creating an artpiece using differing art forms, and a creative space just for you, w/women artists from the Academy of Arts Sarajevo - Comic (sat, 16 sept) :: come and learn how to make comics, create and exhibit, w/Maja Veselinović i Ivana Armanini/Komikaze crew - '78 Revisited (sat 16 sept) :: talks with women who organized the first feminist conference in 1978 in former Yugoslavia +herstory in the making, w/Dunja Blažević, Nada Ler Sofronić and more femonemal women - Creative Commons (CC) (sun, 17 sept) :: learn more about „some rights reserved", what is CC, why and what's it like to use it +how to create your own (british council is da venue), w/Ivana Pavic & Ana Hušman - The Morning After: Plavi Radion, Abstract Art and Bananas (fri.15&sat.16 sept) – day after the Revolution in WWII, the poisiton of women after the war+AFZ and women allegories in public space, sessions w/Bojana Pejić. - Street Actions :: because you love to volunteer and help out at actions, cause there is something you want/need to say, scream, dance or sing in public space.
