Blind Persons with Guide-Dogs Can Use Belgrade Public Transportation

People with impaired vision will be able to use the Belgrade Public Transportation system in the company of their guide dogs, starting July 27, announced Slaven Tica, Director of Belgrade Public Transport Enterprise, in a statement for RTS.

"We decided to allow entry to all service dogs, properly marked, into GSP vehicles, as guides to people with impaired vision”, said Tica.

Radmila Hrustanovic, Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, said that the City Bureau of Public Transportation adopted the same decision to cover the private transportation companies, adding that the 50 guide-dogs, procured by several non-governmental organization, will be given to serve blind persons.

Hrustanovic also announced that the City Council should adopt a mandatory decision on guide-dogs in public transportation.
