Four in Five B&H Citizens for EU Integrations

The pro-EU integration opinion among B&H citizens remains high, shows the survey conducted by GFK Market Research Centre from Sarajevo. According to the survey, 83% of the citizens would vote for it, if a referendum on EU integration were held today, with only nine percent against it. The support is greater in B&H Federation and Brcko District (85%) than in RS (75%).

In spite of the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina is yet to enter the SAA process, similar public opinion surveys are common in potential future EU members, in order to test the citizens’ support for the idea.

The women are slightly more inclined to the idea than men with higher percentage of women that support EU integration (84 to 82 percent), and less women strongly opposed the integration (five and ten percent, respectively).

Although one would expect that the youth would be the most supportive to the idea, the results are clear that the young people support EU integration less then the other age groups. EU integration enjoys highest support among people with university degree (92%), followed closely by persons with elementary education.
