MASSO Expects Start of Activities to Improve the Status of Non-Heterosexual Community

Macedonian Association for Free Sexual Orientation – MASSO published its report on the effects of election campaign on LGBTQ community in Macedonia.

The Report is based on the data collected through the monitoring implemented by MASSO in the period from June 15 to July 3, covering the whole election campaign for the 2006 Parliamentary Elections.

The general conclusion is that the campaign proceeded without incidents and inflammatory language based on anybody’s sexual preferences, with the exception of several statements, graffiti and promotional material with insulting messages.

Accorgint to the report, the express public support of LDP, DA and DOM, as well as the naming of right to form same-sex registered partnerships in SDSM Election Programme, suggest the possibility for a new trend of start of efforts directed at solution of problems and status of non-heterosexual community.

The report is available for download on MASSO Website.
