Workshop: Preparation of Plan for National Campaign on Sustainable Waste Management

The Centre for Environment (CZZS), under its "Strengthening the Role of Environmental NGOs in Bosnia and Herzegovina" Project, will organize a workshop titled Preparation of Plan for National Campaign on Sustainable Waste Management in Sarajevo, May 27-28.

Waste management is one of the key segments of environmental management in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the results of the bad management (mismanagement) are visible at every step and all around us. This is a problem that the citizens perceive as the sole, or the most dominant environmental problem in the country, due to its being the most visible.

It is that public perception of the problem of waste that provides the opportunity to do more about this problem. Having in mind that this is an election year (the parliamentary elections are scheduled to take place on October 1), the CZZS believe that this is the right time to start a campaign for sustainable waste management.

The goals of this campaign may differ and this workshop is envisioned as a place where these goals and aims will be defined. There are a number of associations and organizations that work in this area in Bosnia and Herzegovina, or are interested to get involved. We hope that such association will answer this cal and help create a quality campaign.

The deadline for application expires on May 24. For additional information, please contact the Centre for Environment at miodrag.dakic@czzs.org and gorana.panic@czzs.org or by telephone, on 051/433 140 and 433 141 (Contact persons: Miodrag Dakic and Gorana Panic).

Due to limited funds, the number of participants will be restricted. CZZS retains the right to refuse some applications if the total number of applications exceeds the planned number of participants.
