ILGA-Europe seeks partners for its “Take Action! United Against LGBT Discrimination in Eastern Europe” Project. The Project will be implemented from May 2006 to April 2009, by ILGA-Europe, in cooperation with two partner organizations from Western Balkans and NIS (forme Soviet Republics).
The Project aims to advocate improvements in the legal and social status of the LGBT population in the Balkans and the countries of the former USSR.
The potential partners should exhibit the following qualities:

established LGBT organization working in the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro) or in a country in the western NIS (Belarus, Russia, Moldova, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, the Ukraine);

Prior experience in the area of research and documentation of human rights violations, production of legal and media reports, hate-speech and incitement to violence monitoring;

Clear organization structure that includes permanent staff (half-time and full-time employees), managing board and volunteers;

Prior experience in management of mid-level projects (over 10,000 EUR).
ILGA-Europe will secure the partner organizations with funds between 15,000 and 25,000 EUR per year for successful implementation of the project. The project is supported by the Open Society Institute (Budapest) and the Sigrid Rausing Trust.
