UNHCR Denies Plans for Deportation of Serbs from Kosovo

In a press conference organized yesterday in Belgrade, representatives of Kosovo Serbs, Milan Ivanovic and Marko Jaksic declared that UNHCR and WHO are compiling a plan in Denmark for settling of more than 40.000 Kosovo Serbs in Central Serbia after the solution of Kosovo’s status.

Meanwhile, spokesperson for UNHCR in Belgrade, Vesna Petkovic said that United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and World Health Organization (WHO) are not preparing plans for new wave of Serbian refugees from Kosovo in the eve of the next round of Kosovo status talks.

UNHCR does not deal with deportation of people from Kosovo but on the contrary, it deals with their return, Vesna Petkovic said and stressed there are no plans for the evacuation of the people.
