State Officials’ Property Cards Online

According to Transparency International Croatia, the property cards submitted by the Croatian state officials will be published on internet later this week. The information was confirmed by Josip Leko, Chairperson of the State Commission on Conflict of Interest.
The publication will mark the end of the long effort to provide insight into the property situation of the 1147 state oficials to all citizens in Croatia. The list includes Members of the Sabor, ministers and their deputies and assistants, state secretaries, Zupans, mayors, and university chancellors and deans. After it collected all property cards, the Commission decided in December 2005 to publish them on the internet, but it couldn’t be done because of technical reasons. Having in mind that the Sabor’s server is overloaded, the decision was made to publish the property cards on a special internet site, hosted on the recently procured server. Over the next couple of days, CARNet (Croatian Academic and Research Network) should allocate a web-domain name to the Commission, which will be followed by the other actions necessary for its launch. Leko said that the server and the domain name cost approximately 30,000 Kuna. “After we solve the problem of publication of property cards on the internet, we shall soon start the consolidation of Sabor’s LAN and server infrastructure”, announced Davor Orlovic, Assistant to the Secretary of the Sabor. |
