CRCA Becomes Affiliate Member of ECPAT International

The Children's Human Rights Centre of Albania has become an affiliate member of ECPAT International, a network of organisations and individuals working together to eliminate the commercial sexual exploitation of children. ECPAT it seeks to encourage the world community to ensure that children everywhere enjoy their fundamental rights free from all forms of commercial sexual exploitation.
'We are very pleased by this decision”, Altin Hazizaj, CRCA Director, said to E-News. “We have been working with ECPAT International for quite a long time, so it was a natural decision to join this world movement in our fight against child trafficking, sexual exploitation of children and child sex tourism”. In 2005 the CRCA facilitated the process of establishment of the Albanian Coalition against Trafficking and the Sexual Exploitation of Children. ACTSEC will have as its main aim to work against child trafficking and sexual exploitation of children through lobby and advocacy with the Albanian authorities, NGO's and society at large. Members of ACTSEC include Children's Human Rights Centre of Albania (CRCA), Information and Research Centre for Children Rights in Albania (IRCCRA) and Albanian Human Rights Network (ACRN). One of the main activities of ACTSEC for 2006 will be the organisation of national campaign against sexual exploitation of children in Albania. |
