The Association of Citizens for Adherence to Regulations filed lawsuits against Prime Minister Vlado Buckovski and Minister of Defense Jovan Manasievski. The Association charges them with abuse of office and unjustified spending of 300,000 EUR from the State Budget.
The Association filed the charges against Buckovski and Manasievski two months ago, but they still await for the Office of the Public Prosecutor to respond to their initiative. According to the charges, although there was no real need to do that, Buckovski and Manasievski proceeded with the plans to open military academy in Skopje, which educated several classes of officers which were subsequently declared redundant by the armed forces and were forced to work as prison guards. Vasko Kosteski, President of the Association, said that they have reported the case to the Anti-Corruption Commission. ”They have spent 120 million Denars per class of cadets, which means that, including the class that is currently in the final year of studies, they will have spend 240 million Denars from the Budget for officers are not needed”, says Kosteski. |
