Ekolevizja Annual Meeting

The Ekolevizja Group will organise its annual meeting on 31 January, and will discuss its role as an active force in the environmental protection and the sustainable development. The meeting will take place at the ONUFRI Room of the Tirana International Hotel.

Albanian environmental organizations, association in the Group or out or it, are expected to participate in the meeting. The aim of the meeting is to present the work done by Ekolevizja, define the new orientation and conduct elections for Group leadership and its Statute.

Ekolevizja was established as an initiative of several environmental organisations who wanted to have a media of their own. The efforts were finalised with the newspaper �Ekolevizja�, press organ of the environmentalist sector of the civil society.

For two years, the paper presents the developments and situation in Albanian environment. Later, the organisations that manage the newspaper formed a group, with the goal to have a better co-ordination of their activities, co-ordination which led to success.

The new situation of the environmental movement in Albanian demonstrates the need to institutionalise this movement and involve new actors. With that goal in mind, a draft statute was prepared and has to be approved by the members of the Group.

The proposed activities are designed to reach higher effects in the area of environmental activism and decision-taking.
