Support for Ten Associations Working to Improve Infomation Technology

The e-Macedonia Foundation will support and fund 10 non-govermental organizations that will design and implement projects for promotion and improvement of information technology in the country.

In 2006, the Foundation (established by “Macedonian Telecommunications” Ltd), will provide financial assistance to the cultural institution “Blesok”; the Centre for Psychosocial Support and Mental Health; IMOR – International Education and Resources Network; “Open the Windows” Association for Promotion of Access to New Technology for Disabled Persons.

e-Macedonia will also support the projects of the MIC Founation for Information Science Development; the “Junona” citizen association; KHAM Roma Humanitarian Organization; the Diabetes Association of Prilep; “Agrolink Macedonia”; and the Centre for Institutional Development.

The awarded NGOs applied with projects in the area of education, training and acquisition of skills in computer technology for certain categories of population, such as uniaversity students, unemployed and persons with special needs. The winning projects were allocated a total of 45,000 EUR.
”Our idea is to assist the civic associations, organizations and public benefit institutions to be able to fulfil their goals and expand their services to the community. We believe that education has the power to change the lives of people, strengthen the communities and the economy”, said Slave Mladenovski, Manager of External Communications at “Macedonian Telecommunications”.
