Thirteen Roma persons, representatives of Roma NGOs and associations from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, took part in the communication skills workshop organized in Sarajevo (December 2-4) by the Media Diversity Institute from London and the Media Plan Institute.

The workshop aimed to train the representatives of Roma organizations and associations to present their message to the media in a more efficient and powerful way. The workshop covered the following subjects: creation of media strategies; writing press releases; elements of (good) newsletter; rules of writing for the media; on camera skills, etc.

The workshop was organized under the auspices of the “View Roma Without Prejudice” project, implemented by the Media Diversity Institute. Another workhshop, on Team Reporting, was organized in Sarajevo, December 5-11, with participation of eight journalists divided into four teams of two.

The first two days of the workshop were dedicated to the rules of diversity reporting, and the remaining days of the workshop were used by the teams to prepare a story on a Roma-related issue. All produced articles will be compiled in a single radio programme and broadcast on B&H radio stations.
