Nine in Ten Macedonians Want to Enter the EU
Over 90 percent of the citizens of Macedonia would want to see Macedonia as EU member state, while 56.3 percent believe that the country has fulfilled the accession requirements.
The findings of the poll show that 40.2 percent of the polled citizens are not satisfied with the past efforts of the Government in terms of Macedonian European integrations. The division of the public on this issue reflects the political party affiliations and inclinations of the citizens. The “Say Good Things about Macedonia” campaign has been implemented fro the past two months, and will continue over the coming period under the name “Say OK to MK”. "The goal of this campaign is to stimulate the citizens to support Macedonia in the efforts to join the EU”, said Julijana Tesija from the Forum Centre of Strategic Research and Documentation. The total cost of the project is 1.5 million Denars, and is organized by the Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation, the Forum SDRD and the Search for Common Ground. |
