Anti-Corruption Student Happening - Republic-Do it Yourself

The Youth Education Forum, under the auspices of its �Anti-Corruption in Higher Education� programme, will organize the Republic-Do it Yourself happening, tomorrow, October 26, at the Youth Cultural Centre Skopje.

The happening will be organized with the goal to promote student Ngos and their activities, to recruit new members in student organizations, to raise students� awareness of their rights, improve the communication between the students and institutions, and to promote students artistic works.

The happening will have two segments: educative and entertaining. In the education segment, the students will have an opportunity to learn about the student organization in the U.S. and U.K., the possibilities for student exchange, as well as workshop on opportunities to win scholarships to study abroad.

A set of workshops will be organized to prepare the ideal model for student organizing in Macedonia, and to discuss the corruption in higher education and the instruments of prevention.

YEF also prepared a manual for the students, designed to introduce the student population to their rights, to the institution of Student Ombudsman, and to serve as a practical book of information.

The manual will be distributed to the state universities in Skopje and Bitola.
