The campaign, organized by the Citizens Alliance for Protection of Vlora Bay continues. The latest events was a book launch and presentation, to add to the previosly organized public debates, discussions, round-tables and experts� debates.

Vlora on the Development Crossroads (Tourism or Oil Industry?) is a book dedicated to the Vlora community, written by Prof. Sazan Guri and Dr. Romeo Hanxhari. The local community has strongly supported the "Citiziens Alliance for Protection of Vlora Bay" and its campaign against the construction of industrial zone on the seaside.

The book-launch was held on October 20, at the conference room of the Academy of Sciences. The book is intended to help not only the Vlora community, but the Albanian citizens in general, to understand what the construction of the industrial park will bring to this coastal city, why the citizens of Vlora reject the decision, etc.

The promotion of the book was followed by a meeting of experts, sponsored by the Governmetn of Albania. The meeting was chaired by the Vice Prime Minister Rusmajli, with participation of experts from the National Energy Agency, Vlora's deputies and its Mayor, Shpetim Gjika, as well as representatives of the Citiziens Alliance.

The meeting discussed possible approaches and action that could lead to improved decision making processes on local and national level.
