Vodnjan City Youth Council

The ZUM association started the project for establishment of a Youth City Council in Vodnjan, with the aim to instigate positive change and concrete results in the local community, and enable the youth to present publicly their problems and provide an opportunity to fight for their demands.

With their actions and public statements, the youth emphasize the defects in the communication with the local community, and demand greater respect for their opinions. They seek their rights, opportunities and participation in decision-making processes. They wish better information and transparency.

The project includes establishment of Youth City Councils in all cities and townships in the Istria Council. Councils were already established in Pula and Rovinja, and now the Vodnjan initiative started. The goal of the Council is to provide true and active inclusion of the youth in the governance of the local community.

The Councils include youth representatives between the ages of 16 and 28, with permanent residence in Istria. Thirteen members will be elected for the Vodnjan Council.

The competition for members of the Council will be published in �Glas Istre� weekly, and we invite all interested people to pay attention to the publication. We will also publish the competition on the web site www.zum.hr. After the election, a Constitutional Session will be called. All members will be elected for a period of two years.
