UN Delegation Promotes MDGs in Pirot

The Delegation of the United Nations in Serbia visited Pirot, a town in Eastern Serbia, to promote the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs), under the campaign of celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the UN.

Nicholas Hercules, the Advisor to the Permanent UN Coordinator for Serbia and Montenegro, said in his meeting with Vladan Vasic, the Mayor of Pirot, that the Delegation will travel to 12 cities to discuss the UN with the local citizens and collect their opinion on the organization and possibilities for improvements in its work.

The members of the UN team talked to the students at the High School for Education of Kindergarten Teachers, members of business and non-governmental community, and representatives of political parties.
