International Forum of Environmental Journalists Ended

The first International Forum of Environmental Journalists ended yesterday in Pozega. The three day forum was organized by the Croatian Environmental Press Centre, under the patronage of Ministry of Environmental Protection, Construction and Spatial Planning, discussed the subject of “Importance of Environmental Journalism in Environmental protection and prevention of devastation”.

Twenty journalists from Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, Hungary, England and France took part in the conference. The Forum emphasized the need for improved cooperation of environmental journalists in the country and abroad, with the goal to join their efforts in providing coverage to the issue of endangered nature and provide answers in that regard.

Michael Schweres, the President of the International Federation of Environmental Journalists IFEJ, emphasized that the “... environmental journalists in the world are increasingly more organized. IFEJ today gathers journalists from 117 countries, among them the representatives of the Croatian Environmental Press Centre, which joined the organization in the beginning of this year”.
