Action Against Graffiti Inciting Hatred and Discrimination

Women in Black and the Queer Beograde Collective invite all interested citizens and organizations to join the “Eliminate Violence from Our Walls” action, which has the goal to paint over the graffiti that call for discrimination, fascism, homophobia, xenophobia, violence, racism and other forms of hatred and intolerance.

The aim it to attract the public attention to the increased intolerance and calls for violent reaction towards all those that differ from the mainstream for their national, ethnic background, gender, cultura level or sexual orientation.

The first graffiti to be painted over by the activists of the Women in Black and Queer Belgrade Collective is located in Ivan Milutinovic Street in Belgrade.

The Action was initiated by the “React!” Group from Zrenjanin and “ESPERANCA” NGO from Novic Sad, and it was later joined by a variety of groups from Subotica, Pancevo, Podgorica, Novi Becer, Kikinda, Nis...

The Action is supported by activists from many cities in Hungary, Switzerland, the U.K., Ireland, Sweden, Germany, Norway, etc.
